THAT ROCK N ROLL EH,

Hello everyone, as I posted earlier in the week, I went to London on Wednesday to attend the NME Awards. Me and my friend, Katie, got tickets a few weeks back and decided to use it as an excuse to have a little adventure in London. We stayed over night, and got ourselves quite a fancy hotel for a really good price from lastminute.com, using the top secret hotel choices they have. We're so used to travel lodges that we felt quite posh staying in a 4*. We spent the Wednesday travelling to London, eating nandos, finding our hotel and then getting ready for the event.

OUTFIT
(outfit - Blazer - Zara, Blouse - ASOS, Jeans - Topshop, Boots - New Look, bag - ASOS)
The images of my outfit are a tad yellow, that's what happens when you're trying to work with hotel room lighting I guess. I had planned what I was wearing weeks in advance, as soon as the blazer arrived at my house, I knew it would be perfect for an event like this. I did buy it with the matching skirt (which I wore a few weeks back here) But I decided to play it down a bit, and wear it with jeans. I felt quite masculine in this outfit,  a bit like a psychedelic Mia Wallace. The jeans and blouse are items I've owned for a while, and are staple items I guess, I wear them all the time and they match almost anything.

NME AWARDS
The awards themselves were pretty cool, it was a nice excuse for a night out in London, and it's great to see a few bands also (even though the majority of bands that performed I'm not huge fans of) but I did get to see Debbie Harry in the flesh so you know, swings and roundabouts.
We managed to spot a few celebs, we arrived late, but so did Lily Allen, we caught her on the way into the awards and I almost had a meltdown because she's definitely my favourite pop star, like, ever. We caught a few glimpses of the gorgeous Daisy Lowe (and saw her again the day after in Topshop) and Alana (baby) Haim.
The awards are generally there to kiss the arses of all the musicians, and you definitely don't feel very special unless you've got a table, however, it's not everyday you're in the same room as Paul McCartney, Damon Albarn and Johnny Marr.
Afterwards, we found a mad little bar in Camden, just opposite the roundhouse, it was very small but the atmosphere in there was ridiculous. Joes, I believe it was called, they played all old-school rhythm and blues, and going back to the pulp fiction reference with my outfit, it felt very much like THIS scene.

FOOD
We spent the thursday shopping on Oxford street, and shovelling american BBQ food into our mouth. We visited our favourite restaurant in London, Bodeans, I can't recommend this place enough, the food is beautiful and so delicious, my mouth is watering just thinking about. They also do some great little cocktails to wash your food down with. We both had the pulled pork sandwhich, and it was just about the right size with no sides (we made that mistake last time) I definitely think everybody should eat here if you're into BBQ meat and are in London at any point, they have about four (I think they're developing a 5th) different restaurants scattered around the city.

Do you know of any food places that you can't get enough of? Either in London, or another city?
let me know in comments, I looove trying new places when I'm travelling around.

WASTING LIGHT.

top - foo fighters mercy, treggings - topshop, boots - new look, watch - vivienne westwood.

Afternoon guys! Just a quick, simple post today to keep you updated. I'm venturing down to London today for the NME awards, and this is what I'm wearing today. Those gingham treggings making an appearance again, I can't seem to be able to take them off. Keeping it really casual with this Foo Fighters top I bought a couple of years ago, it seemed fitting to wear today, rock n roll and all that. I've only included a couple of photos, and avoided showing you too much face, since I know I'll be getting dressed up later, I'm keeping my skin clear in the day time.
I suffer with awful skin, despite being in my 20s, so anytime I get to keep it away from make-up I take.
I'll be posting about my adventures when I get home tomorrow, but for now, that is all :)

What plans do you have this week?

BOW DOWN

Happy Monday everyone! Today I'm feeling slightly more down than usual on a monday, but only because last night I went to see the angel that is Beyonce. I've definitely got a big case of the post-Bey blues, she was incredible! I've put together a little post of my outfit, and also a little photo diary to go along with it. I've tried to mix them together, but I'm not sure if it would have been better to put all the outfits photos together first (suggestions for next time?)

OUTFIT
(Dress - Prettylittlething.co.uk, Boots - New Look, Jacket - Topshop, Bag - ASOS, Bow - official Beyonce merch)
With this, I played with black & pink, a lot like Bey's album cover. I never usually get so dressed up when I go to gigs and stuff, but it's BEYONCE so I felt like I should just make an effort. I've had the dress about a month, and only wore it once, but I adore it, the colour, the shape, THE POCKETS. I paired it with these chelsea boots from New Look, which don't look OTT, but they definitely give me a lot of height so I can see a little better. Again, I took my faux leather biker jacket with me, because it's easy to wrap around my waist.
Look how cute the headband is?! it was a hefty £15, but me and all five of my friends bought one and they're so cute. They were actually really handy as not that many people bought them so we could easily find one another in the crowd.
I'm actually really happy with this outfit choice, a lot of the girls last night were dressed up and looked gorgeous.

BEYONCE
This is the third time I've seen Bey, and it was definitely my favourite of them all. She played ALOT of songs from her new album, which I haven't been able to turn off since she unexpectedly dropped in December. She had two stages, and we were pretty close to the second one, so whenever she jumped on there we got a wonderful view. She had SO MANY outfit changes, but carries it off really well, you never felt like you were waiting that long for her. As expected her voice is incredible, and the show was really well put together. I saw the MRS Carter tour last year, and she's made some tweaks in it since then, but it's definitely for the better. The only thing I'd change is how she ends the show. She sings Halo (beautifully) then proceeds to thank her all female dancers, all female band, and crew and then leaves. I know that thank you's to everyone else behind the show are important, but if we could've got one more song for us to leave with, it would have been PERFECT.
One thing I love about Beyonce, is the all female band she has, it definitely boosts my respect for female artists when I see they are actively finding other female artists to collaborate with. Beyonce's tickets were £68 in total, and I'd happily pay it to go and see her again, she is most definitely worth every penny. Flawless.

Are you much of a fan of Beyonce? or do you have another idol you're dying to see live?

OH WHAT A SHAME

hat, coat, jeans - topshop
top - H&M
boots - New Look

Shockingly bad quality photo's from the gig.

Hello Everyone! This is just a quick catch up post, which should have been posted Monday (I'm terrible) On Sunday I spent the day with a group of friends and family of mine and went into Birmingham City Centre for drinks and to see The Strypes!

OUTFIT
The outfit is really casual, just skinny jeans with a striped top. I wore my new boots from New Look, they're actually really comfortable, and they give me loads of height at the same time (which is an extra bonus for a gig, as I could actually SEE for once) I never usually take big coats along to gigs with me, but since I was out from about 1pm, I couldn't bear to not take something warmer with me. I almost wish I hadn't now, since my beloved pink coat is now filthy.
I didn't get a chance to take many photo's for this (I did try and bargain with my 12 year old sister to take some of me, but it was unsuccessful) So, these will have to do for now.

THE STRYPES GIG
The Strypes are a very young band from Ireland, they sound very old school - blues/rock and roll, and considering their age, I think they're amazing. I've seen the three times before now, twice at festivals and once when they supported Arctic Monkeys (I even briefly met the guitarist once outside walkabout once) They have so so so much energy on stage, and their songs are all really upbeat. You'll find it hard to not move along to them.
We arrived pretty late, after having probably one to many drinks in the Sunflower Lounge, so we were stood quick far back, however after about three or four songs we managed to find a way to the front of the crowd, and I some how ended up at the barrier for the rest of the gig, which was amazing for me because I got a fantastic view for once (short problems). The guys absolutely blew me away, and it was such a memorable night, I even managed to get hold of a (very ripped) setlist afterwards.

Side note: I'm really considering changing my blog name, I'm not sure what too, but I don't feel like "When in Wonderland" is very fitting anymore (I've had it since I was about 17) What do you think? should I stay the same, or change it to something else? Let me know it comments please, advice would be amazing.

A MESSAGE TO YOU // OOTD

 jumper - Topshop
Treggings - Topshop
Boots - ASOS
Coat - Urban Outfitters
Bag - ASOS

Hello! Just a quick OOTD post this morning, I've been really busy the last few days and haven't had a lot of chance to do any blogging (will probably be the same for the next week or so) So what better way to keep updated than an outfit post from yesterday.

The treggings came in the post monday for me, I've recently rekindled my love with trousers/jeans/anything that covers my full leg, as I've been a hardcore dress girl for atleast 5 years or so, but with all these gorgeous prints coming in,  it's easy to fall in love. I opted for treggings, rather than just leggings, because there is a bit more too them, you can wear shorter tops with them without fear of everyone knowing what type of underwear you have on. But they're also comfier than jeans. These are also a really lovely material, the pattern has a velvet feel to them, so you're not only playing around with gingham, your mixing in textures too. lovely.
I bought the jumper last August, and have been in love ever since, the colour goes so well against the monochrome bottom. The bag was one of my Valentines gifts to myself, oops.

What are your thoughts on treggings? or the new prints coming in for the new season ahead? any favourites in particular or not your thing at all?

LONELY HEARTS CLUB.

Literally everything is from Topshop, apart from the belt, I can't remember where that came from.

Hello everyone, as you saw in yesterdays post, I don't really have anything special planned for today (lonely hearts club ayy) and I'm still waiting on the postman to deliver my flowers from all my admirers (the jokes over now postman, hurry up) but that doesn't mean I can sit around all day in my pyjamas and do nothing, as much as I'd like to.

So I put together this little ensemble, I still went with the Valentines theme and wore a heart print. The dress was a birthday present from my friends a couple of years ago, and it's still one of my favourite dresses. The shoes were also a present, I picked them myself and my Grandad bought them me for Christmas, I've only worn them on New Years Eve before now, so my feet are still getting used to them. The bag, yet again, another present, my mom bought it me last Christmas, it's also from Topshop.

It's the beginning of London Fashion Week today (sob sob I'm not going), but admittedly I didn't pay much attention to NYFW, however I'm going to keep myself updated more, and hopefully put a post together of my favourite collections once it's over.

Are there any collections you're looking forward to seeing? or any outstanding ones from New York I should really be into? let me know in comments :)

SURVIVING VALENTINES

Hello! As you're all probably well aware, it's Valentines Day tomorrow, and if you have a special someone in your life who you have plans with, well, good for you. However I've put this little post together for all my fellow singletons out there!

I've spent the past three years on my own for this day, and actually it doesn't bother me (we're the lucky ones really!) I understand that this day can bring a lot of lonely feelings on for some people, so here's some tips on how to enjoy the day.

PALENTINES DAY
I saw this phrase the other day on Tumblr, and it's been whizzing around my head ever since. Get together with any of your single friends, go out for food or drinks (celebrate the joys of single hood!)  or stay in and watch movies, order junk food. Surround yourself with the people that mean the most to you, buy them flowers, they could be feeling pretty lonely too.

If even all your single friends have dates too, Don't worry, I'm very good at spending time by myself so I have a few more ideas...

ROMANTIC BATH FOR ONE PLEASE
Run yourself a bath, add your favourite bath bomb (treat yourself to ballistic from Lush, you deserve it) Light candles, stick a playlist of all your favourite songs on..sit back, relax and enjoy.

COOK YOUR FAVOURITE MEAL
Okay, so you've got no-one else to cook for, but that also means you have no-one else to please, see how much better it is being on your own. Cook your absolute favourite meal, no matter how unhealthy it may or may not be, or something you haven't had in years, something that takes you back to your childhood. Not forgetting the best part about any meal, DESSERT, Go crazy, have five, who cares, it's not like anyone's there to judge you.

STAY IN BED
Have a movie marathon, watch your favourite romantic movie, or gory horror, or cheesy 80's flick, watch and do whatever makes YOU feel GOOD ;)

STAY OFF ALL SOCIAL MEDIA
I repeat, stay off all social media. It's hard, and you'll probably be dyyyyingg to brag about how much of a great time you're having this year without your ex anyway, but I promise you, all you'll find from this are instagrams of roses and soppy facebooks status, or even worse, the bitter people complaining about how much Valentines is a waste of everyones time, and maybe it is, but you don't need that negativity in your life, Good vibes only guys. Stay off all social media.

TREAT YO SELF
Buy yourself chocolates, flowers, and that pair of shoes you've had your eyes on the past two weeks. Your bank balance may not thank you, but this time next year, you might actually have to spend YOUR own money on somebody else?! So enjoy being single on Valentines day whilst it lasts. I know I've already spend a small fortune today on myself, oops.

Do you have any plans for tomorrow? or do you pretty much have the same ideas as me?
