In an alternate universe, I’d be jetting of to glamorous Las Vegas today for the weekend. However, we’re not in a parallel world, and I’ll find myself sat behind a till tomorrow, but, for the sake of this post, lets just all pretend!
Trek America are currently holding a contest for the next big blogger, and the winner gets the chance to see the west coast of the U S A! All you have to do is create a blog post about what you would pack for a weekend away. So, since the prize of this is their Westerner 2, I decided to base this around one city in particular (which just happens to be part of the trek you win!)
I have already been lucky enough to gamble in Vegas, so I have a pretty decent idea on what I would take if I ever visited again.

COMFY SHOES
A must, the strip is sooooo long, and I enjoy walking around, exploring when I’m in new places, so my pair of trusty vans are a must for day times (probably night times past 4am also)

LUCKY DRESS
Well, this hasn’t actually proved to be lucky in anyway so far, but it’s pretty and multi-seasonal so again, we’ll just pretend and go with the gambling theme here.

CAMERA
To capture all your memories, I’ve chosen to take my instax mini, because it’s both cute and very small.

MOBILE PHONE
So I can make sure I can instagram and check in on Facebook along the way (what’s the point in leaving the house at all if you can’t make you old school friends and colleagues envious?)

$$$$
Plenty of money, mainly for all the alcoholic slushes you buy walking around.

Things I haven’t included in the pictures but are a MUST:
Passport/ID (duh)
Sunglasses
Suncream (you are technically in the middle of a desert)
Underwear (imagine forgetting those!)
Socks (..I am always forgetting these)

So, I guess I’m packed, all I need now is a flight and somewhere to stay, or a place on the Westerner 2!

OSCARS 2014 FAVES

Sally Hawkins - Valentino
Naomi Watts - Calvin Klein
Emma Watson - Vera Wang
Cate Blanchett - Armani Prive
Lupita Nyong'o - Prada

It was Oscar night last night (also known as, the best awards show all season) I stayed up allll night watching them (once you start, you're pretty much committed) They're the biggest awards show of them all, and the fashion stakes are always soso high. There were a few actresses I was disappointed in (Oliva Wilde's dress at the Golden Globes was so much more incredible than the one she wore last night) But there were also so many gorgeous looks too.

I've picked out my top five looks from the red carpet last night, my ultimate favourite from last night was Lupita Nyong'o, she looked like a real life princess. She's burst onto the scene this season with "12 years a slave", and has looked flawless at every single award show.
Cate Blanchett always looks amazing, and angelic. She looks so ethereal, and magical.
I'm quite a sucker for detail, so Sally Hawkins dress it right up my street. I think the sleeves are a little too long on her, and she looks a bit swamped, with the train and high neck, combined with wearing her hair down. But the dress itself is so gorgeous, I couldn't not include it in this post.
The colour white seemed to be a bit of a trend last night (Kate Hudson looked gorgeous in a silvery/white number) but my favourite blanc gown was the Calvin Klein one, worn by Naomi Watts. It looks so simple from afar, but if you look really closely, you can see all the detailing.
I'm not the biggest fan of Emma Watson usually, but she looked so beautiful last night. It was so grunge-y for the Oscars, but she still pulled it off so well. It's not just the meshy dress that I love about this, it's her hair, accessories and makeup. The look on a whole worked so well together.
Again, my favourite was Lupita, the statement headband with her pixie hair, and the red lip against the blue dress, the plunging neck line, I cannot get over this look. just, flawless.
I also need to mention Suki Waterhouse, I can't find any full photos of her dress, but she looked so gorgeous on the front row next to Bradley Cooper last night, so appropriate for the Oscars, but also kept it very "Suki" with her hair.

What were your favourite looks from last night?
Let me know in the comments below.

Sunday 2 March 2014

LAZY SUNDAY.

(Shirt - Topshop, White top - Topshop, Jeans - Topshop, Shoes - ASOS, Watch - Vivienne Westwood)

Good evening everyone!
This is a little late today, it's a sunday and my saturday nights are my everything, so I usually write off doing anything until atleast 4pm on a Sunday. I'm currently writing this as I'm watching the Red Carpet for the Oscars, I'll be posting my favourite outfits tomorrow (which is why I had to get this out of the way with tonight!)

OUTFIT
As the title states, today has been very lazy. Make-up in minimal and I haven't even touched my hair since I jumped out the shower.
I bought the checked shirt late last year, it's gorgeous. I'm not sure these photos do it justice, it's such a lovely material, like a silk. It has a really great quality to it. I usually wear it as a button up shirt, but I got this scalloped, burnt out daisy print top last week from Topshop. It works underneath the shirt, not only because the colours go so well, but the materials of them both are so different.
I just opted for skinny jeans to go with this, they're my comfiest pair of jeans and I couldn't bare to wear anything less cosy today (hangover hell)

Hope everyone has had a lovely week,
and none of you are suffering as much as I have been today.
